On the leaflet it says consult your doctor before taking these if you have high blood pressure.

I've been in them for 3 years and have recently been told I have high bp .

I am supposedly normal tsh ok. 200 levo per day.can levo affect bp????

I can't answer you I'm afraid. I just wanted to say I don't think doctors ever read patient leaflets because over the years I have been prescribed harmful stuff over and over again. I queried the issue of adrenal insufficiency that is mentioned on the patient leaflet, and the silence has been deafening. I hand delivered my low cortisol results, nothing happened about that either.

What I can say is that when you are optimally treated your blood pressure should go down. If only they would dump the TSH and start to examine us, we'd get better a lot faster!

Thanks for that. I don't feel I am optimally treated. When bp was high nurse sent me for ECG. She wouldn't test anything thyroid except tsh. I've had a total thyroidectomy. I've been trying to lose weight and exercise see if that helps .

What dose are you on? I read a rule of thumb is 10mcg of levo to every stone in weight. Also have you thought about adding some NDT or T3 in. Levo hasn't done much for me but now I add in Armour this is starting to benefit me. I've taken the stance of dosing myself until I feel better. It costs money though :-(

I'm on 200 a day so more than your 10 per stone!

I'm in uk and doc won't even test for t3 although I'd love to see if it helps. We don't pay for prescriptions here.

Googled dosage ..

Adults and teenagers—Dose is based on body weight and must be determined by your doctor. The usual dose is 1.7 microgram (mcg) per kilogram (kg) per day but may be less in older adults.
