Hi,
I have just been put on a low fibre diet by a dietician to try and help with D type IBS. Does anyone have experience of this, can recommend any useful websites etc. Has it helped at all? Thanks.

Hi - i have the same ibs -D. i use FoDMAPS diet and also use glucomannan - a soluble fibre. you can buy it on the internet - i can't find it anywhere else. FODMAPs helped me a lot - you'll find out more about it on this forum or the internet. i now stick to low fibre foods as high fibre just sets me off again. good luck
Hello, I too react very badly to high fibre, and it's not just a bran thing - I cannot tolerate psyllium at all even though it is gluten-free. I also have issues with high-fibre foods such as lentils, and am finding the Fodmaps diet is perfect for me. I have IBS-D, and so don't have as much need for fibre as those with the constipation-dominant type of IBS, but I may take a look at glucomannan - thanks for mentioning that Rosie!
