My partner has just been diagnosed with parkinsons and I wondered if anyone has any tips on dealing with this disease. We are both in shock at the minute but any input would be much appreciated.

Parkinsons

Sorry to hear about your partner’s problem. I think you’ll find this link useful, Living with Parkinson’s Disease, an NHS guide. Here is the link: nhs.uk/conditions/parkinson...

Thank you will take a look.
I know this is late. My husband was diagnosed 3 years ago and went down hill FAST, much faster than most. Here is what I would advise - do the fun things you've always wanted to NOW, get all affairs in order, make sure your house can accommodate a disabled person or move. Start voice and swallowing exercises NOW. Exercise every day. Look up the vitamin B1 info from Daphne on this forum and join her facebook group. Look around for alternative therapies - acupuncture, chelating heavy metals out of system, research this forum, think positive, pray, and tell your partner each and every day you love them. Best to you.
Sorry to hear that. There is a Parkinson's group on here which you may wish to join for some support:
My Mum has Parkinsons was diagnosed in 2012 . It is a real shock. She was given medication and takes it as prescribed, this definitely helps with the tremors. She was 90yrs old this year, she does struggle with it a bit more these days. But the NHS give her regular check ups and have always taken good care of her. I wish you both all the best x
