occasionally l might get mucus at end of poo but just went to toilet thinking l needed poo an was just farting out mucus ( cream coloured) not sure what caused this ? Anyone else????

I’ve been getting that for a year now and put it down to Alflorex and/or the Zoe health programme as a change in gut microbiome can cause this problem. Unfortunately, there are many causes of mucous overproduction (it occurs naturally in the gut to protect the lining) and most are pretty innocuous but, if you’re worried, then see your GP.

Thankyou for yr reply lve bin taking new probiotics for around 3 wks now an l was taking alflurex . Maybe it's the reason nothing today was just a lot in one go very strange

hello, this popped up in my inbox. It got my attention as I’ve had this for years, although I have explained it to my husband as “ butt jelly “ it’s consistency is similar to anything like pork pie jelly ( not clear though ) to exactly what you have described. I too feel like it’s a bowel movement only pass wind and butt jelly. I have wondered for many years what it is. The more constipated I am the thicker it is. I even have it when my bowels are watery loose 🤷‍♀️

Hopefully you get some answers as I too would like to know.
