Weird stuff with my leg!

In the morning after I get up, come downstairs, get a hot drink, my tummy starts to tell me a bowel movement will be needed soon. But worse than that, my left leg starts to go numb, and it starts in my groin/lower belly area, and spreads right down to just above the knee, left leg!

Often if I scrunch down in a squat on the ground that eases it slightly but as soon as I do have a bowel movement that stops happening entirely and it doesn't come back all day long. It only happens first thing in the morning before a #2. (there's no pain with the #2)

Does anyone else get any weird stuff like this?

Luisa22You help so many people on this site but on this occasion help yourself by getting the leg numbness checked out by your GP🙏

I agree with Linley . Hope you manage to find out what is causing this.

I'm no medical expert but this sounds like a vegus nerve problem. I go dizzy if I strain at all, and have to lay down for 5 to 20 minutes after.

I was also going to suggest that a nerve was being pinched or pressure put on it.

Hi Luisa,Doubt this will be of much help, but i'll share anyway! I have had ibs (mainly C) for over 20 yrs. Three years ago i had to have 5 stents after heart attack. They were put in through the groin, my right leg was badly bruised, mainly the hip/thigh to knee area for weeks after. Since then i get numbness just like you mentioned in that area, mainly if im walking, doing housework or constipated. My doc said it may be circulation in that area is not flowing that well. I am waiting to see a consultant to have it checked out. Could be next year when i get appt! As soon as i sit down the numbness goes away, im so used to it now, it does'nt bother me. Hope you get it sorted, but im sure its nothing serious anyway, its liveable with as i've found out;-)

Thanks, kind people. I feel it might be from my lower back which has been a problem for 26 years. Most likely pressure on a nerve from there. That feeling in my leg always goes away after a bm though, so maybe a full bowel adds some pressure in the pelvic area. You're all right. I need to see the doctor. I spoke to a doctor who is a neighbour recently, but didn't say enough, just that I get backache and my pelvis is tilted. She recommended a physiotherapist at the health centre, but that wasn't a consultation, just an ordinary brief meeting with her.
