Yes a feeling that I need a poop even after I just been,
itching for me
The only anus/rectum problem I get is really extremely painful. That is proctalgia fugax. I had that diagnosed by my doctor quite a few years ago now, and even before the start of my IBS.
It is the most awful pain, and it can come on any time with no warning, but fortunately not frequently, and I might have about 5 or 6 a year. It can even wake me from a deep sleep. One thing I've learned is it completely disappears in between 10 and 20 minutes. Not even enough time for a painkiller to work.
I don't know how if at all, it's related to my IBS, but I have definitely had more instances of it during my IBS years than I did before. It scared me when it first happened (2008 or something?) And that's what sent me running for a diagnosis. The doctor told me it's a muscle spasm, and quite harmless. But ouch!!
It has me literally writhing on the floor or the bed until it disappears.
I get the same Luisa. It usually comes on at night and is absolute agony, not worth taking painkillers as it only lasts about 10 minutes thank goodness.Very scarey the first time it happened.
I found a way to help with this. I've almost eliminated it happening and it used to be frequent!
It only works before you get an attack not so much during. I found I could predict when it may occur: after toilet issues or tensing muscles etc. So I tried purposeful, relaxing breathing exercises while concentrating on inner core areas right after I'd been tense. Almost like imagining strings being cut on a marionette but 'inside'.
This really made a huge difference in my symptoms.
I also get this and find a hot water bottle can be helpful. Also I think lying straight and not curled up.
Yes. Leaking faeces and or mucus
Hi hetchins. I also have suffered terrible mucus issues for 2 years but got slightly better changing my diet to gluten free. Had a colonoscopy and ct with contrast. All clear. Bouts of gas with mucus that is terrible coming out. Is that what you have also
I also feel I need to go, when just been and I'm empty. I feel heavy legs and warm/burning inside and out of exit area. After iv been even when it was easy I have to lay down 10-20 minutes?
I get this nasty gnawing scratching like I have been scraped inside and what I can only describe as this constant "URGE" 2 poop all the time even when I've been and sometimes I feel like I am not empty and it can be like sitting on rocks and can be very uncomfortable 4 most of the day SORRY 2 be the bearer of bad news but that is me most of the day and have 2 keep making mad dashes 2 the toilet even 2 fart ETC I do try and use a warm flannel and pat myself dry with T/roll and use vaseline petrollium stuff sorry about my spellings and I am having another bad day with it today as I can't sit stand or walk it no matter what I do!!!
This is a common condition for men and maybe ladies who have had radiation in the pelvic area. I had radiation for prostate cancer and I get that feeling sometimes where my rectum tightens and feels like it needs to go but nothing happens. There is also a condition along with that called proctitis. Here is a list of symptoms from Mayo Clinic:
A frequent or continuous feeling that you need to have a bowel movement.
Rectal bleeding.
Passing mucus through your rectum.
Rectal pain.
Pain on the left side of your abdomen.
A feeling of fullness in your rectum.
Diarrhea.
Pain with bowel movements.
