Just me again was wanting more advice on somethings i got diagnosed with symptomatic and problematic ibs in 2018 after having a pill cam done but over the years it has been getting worse now i have bile acid malabsorption which i got diagnosed with in January 2023 , i was back and forth to doctors over these last few years saying something not right but all i got was its yous ibs playing up since October last year really bad stomach pains and diarrhea cramping and after food and darting to the loo . Right so my doctor emailed gastroenterologist who diagnosed the ibs in 2018 asking for advice on my new symptoms he refuse to see me just said it was my ibs , so back to the doctors i go saying look i know some else is going on i know my body and its not ibs symptoms i am getting pain is alot worse and the pain round my ribs to so within 2 months i got a urgent referal to a different hospital had a bile study done and came back with server bile acid malabsorption so i have put a complaint in a place called pals and they are looking into stuff as i feel like i have been neglected or misdiagnosed and the first gastroenterologist not wanting to see me as saying its your ibs and the other hospital finding the server bile acid malabsorption . Sorry for the long post but am just fed up with it all as something could of been done about it sooner anyone else went through something similar any advice would b much appreciated

The sympathy and support patients get seems to be hugely variable, but I’m glad you got your answer in the end. Well done for persevering!
