Hi, does anyone take pregabalin for their IBS? I have recently been prescribed it at 25mg twice a day. I started it on Saturday but no difference yet, maybe it's too soon. If you take it are you on similar doses and does it help you? Many thanks.

Hello PinkCrayon I was prescribed Pregabalin for severe back pain following my knee replacement As the pain got better I also noticed I felt calmer and enjoyed things more and I have been allowed to stay on them

I'm sorry I can't answer your post with regards ibs but I can say if you have anxiety because of it then you should definitely find Pregabalin will help

Wishing you all the very best

I had to chuckle when I saw you reply to Orrible Guts for a second I thought that's rude then realised that's their forum name 😂

Pregablin can cause constipation and can be difficult to come off

Thanks for letting me know, worrying to hear it can cause constipation as it's the last thing I need.

Hi Pink Crayon. I take Pregablin for Neuropathic pain related to my MS. It works well for that but can't say I've noticed any changes with the IBS. I think you need to give it more time before making a final judgement.

Hi Orrible-guts, many thanks for your reply. Yes it probably is too soon to make a final judgment. I just wish I could have a magic wand to stop the IBS pain.

I've been taking pregabalin before I was diagnosed with IBS for something completely different but it is supposedly good for pain relief amongst other things.
