grams of fat
"Recommendations on fat intake in IBS, according to dietary guidelines and/or scientific literature: (1) if related to IBS symptoms during or after eating, fat intake should be assessed, while ensuring the intake is in line with healthy eating guidelines[12]. According to FAO/WHO dietary recommendations, the total fat intake for an adult should range from 30% to 35% of total energy, without being under 15% of total energy[44]; and (2) patients with IBS should be advised to limit fat intake to no more than 40-50 g/d[17]."

I have a severe problem with dietary fat and fibres in my intestines so no fat intake, a low-fat diet and no/low fibres, works the best for me.
Essential fats or essential fatty acids (EFA's) cannot be made by the body. EFA's are found in polyunsaturated fats. Examples of sources of essential fats are: cold water fish (salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines), fish oil and sunflower oil.
And foods high in animal fat and saturated fat should be limited according to a document I've read.
I'm sorry I don't know the recommended grams of fat for someone with IBS, but I think it can depend on the person and how much they tolerate fats. For instance I have IBS but am fine with fats. They don't upset me at all. My problem seems to be fibre mainly.
