IBS-D....help!

Hi All,

Just to introduce myself, I am a 40-something female and I have had IBS (Diarrheoa) for about 8 years with occasional bouts of Gastritus. I'm really into health and Fitness, which is really frustrating as my IBS triggers are fruit and vegetables, making it difficult to be as healthy as i would like. I'm also Gluten and Dairy intolerant. I've tried LOW FODMAP which really helped but it's not enough and too hard too follow indefinitely. Has anyone tried the Nerva hypnosis??

look forward to all your advice and tips

I am sorry this is so hard for you, and you want to eat healthy food. I had the same problem, as I'd always eaten healthy food and had never gone near any kind of 'diet'...until IBS happened.

The low Fodmap diet isn't meant to be followed indefinitely. The guideline is do it for 8 weeks, or you could do it a little longer maybe.

Then the next phase is one by one to re introduce foods gradually, starting with smaller amounts and buiding up a bit until you can say either that food suits you, it definitely doesn't. or you get a cut off point where you start to get symptoms. So you can say you can definitely tolerate for instance, a quarter of a cup, but a half cup may trigger your IBS. (or whatever amount)

Then when that food is sorted out, try another one, etc.

It's much better and safer if you have a dietician. It's also easier because you don't have to do hours of nutritional research etc.

I had the same, IBD D for years on and off, and then for over a year with no respite, up to 8 times a day, having to find a toilet urgently when it came on. It was destroying my life, was even thinking of looking for a new job as I was on the road a lot and was always getting caught out. My GP then prescribed me Fybogel, the powder not the tablets, to be taken once a day after evening meal. It worked like a dream. Within a couple of days I was completely normal and it hasn't returned since. This was almost 2 years ago and i still take them as it's a natural product. Might not work for everyone but it was a Godsend for me.

I have tried Nerva but I can’t say it really helped me massively. Have you ever tried Enterosgel? That really seems to calm my gut down and allow me to eat more 🤞🏻

my daughter ibs d for several months. I have seen various people offering hypnotherapy for ibs and anxiety which she suffers badly with. She only has diarrhoea in morning which I’m assuming is her anxiety. I’m giving her enterosgel and. Ibs Colofac tablets. Helping a bit but only middling
