Hi to all you many sufferers my thoughts are with you all. I was diagnosed with IBS-D about three years ago I’m on a gluten and fructan free diet. However I still suffer with urgent explosive diarrhoea some days worse than others but being on these diets has lessened the amount of times I have to rush to the loo from around 8 times a day to 3 sometimes 4. I really want to try probiotics has anyone had good results from a particular brand. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I’m practically housebound with this diarrhoea 😢

probiotics
I have had very good results (so far) with Symprove and also with Chuckling Goat kefir. Took about 8 weeks before I noticed a consistent improvement and I had to take small doses at first to acclimatize. Only downside is that they are expensive so I signed up for newsletter and special offers and waited until they were on sale. Have you tried the Low Fodmap diet? That is the one recommended by the NHS and may be compatible with your existing diets I'm not sure?
thanks I’ll look into that 👍
One thing i forgot to say is I'd advise you to steer clear of the probiotics that contain fillers such as sweeteners and FOS which can be triggering for IBS especially if you are sensitive to fructans. I think if you live in the UK then Symprove, Aflorex and VSL#3 are the three best studied probiotics with a good success rate and no nasties in the fillers. Of the three it is only Symprove that has worked for me; no idea why!
If you live in the UK, Bio-Kult seems to be pretty good and much cheaper than the other probiotics mentioned. Also, you can find it in Boots and maybe Superdrug. It's not perfect but seems to be about as good as VivoMixx (the cheaper version of VSL#3), which is available where I live.
