I've helped family members successfully claim PIP over the last few years (not for bowel issues). The key thing to remember about PIP is that the diagnosis is /almost/ irrelevant, what is important, and the key to claiming, is the effect that the illness has on the way you are able (or unable) to live your daily life. That's probably how it should be.

Samples of the claim form are available on the Web, although you may need to search hard. Details of the claim process - which is straightforward - is easy to find.

I would say that a subscription to the forum at benefitsandwork.co.uk is well worthwhile and will repay itself if you are successful. This subscription also gives you access to a huge document library which includes a sample claim form.

There are a lot of horror stories about the assessment process, and how the assessors treat claimants during the face to face assessment, but we've not yet seen any of that.

Claiming is not a trivial thing to undertake, and the process can become very stressful, but help is available from a number of sources.
