Ha dit years ago and got a n ointment from Boots that i applied twice per day. I cant remember the name of it but it was quite expensive. Maybe you should go ask a pharmacist about it.

Thank you for your reply ,l have been using Scholl paint on ointment and it has turned the part of the nail which was infected a pearl white colour. I am assuming that this will need to grow out. Fingers crossed that it has worked ,if not l have been provided with a lot of ideas to try.

Try putting "Vicks vaporub " on your toenails each time you wash your feet. Definitely works & I've recommended to several people. Obviously takes time to work if your nails grow quite slowly. Also, Listerine mouthwash ( not a cheaper one) is supposed to work but I have never tried it. Both contain thymol with is antifungal. Give it a go, my nails are almost perfect & I am 83.

Sounds worth a try, thanks.

If you use the Listerine, it must be original formula.

Vicks vapour rub will give that a try 👍

Hi kipper1858 it depends on how bad the infection is. I had 20 years of problems on one toenail (having tried tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar and other natural and homespun treatments, and spent a fortune on treatments via my pharmacy) I am now getting results. I had the nail tested by GP so know it is fungal nail infection. I recently had tried Emtrix and that was starting to show results, but as the infection is about halfway down the nail, it was just holding it from getting worse. I finally decided to go to a podiatrist, who has cut the nails low, advised to start Canespro that dissolves the nail (2-3 week treatment), then was advised to continue with Emtrix until it is gone. Another podiatrist visit in a few months after the start of the treatment will check all OK. Generally I was told, it was better to start with the Canespro as it is the most effective, it's just I had already started the Emtrix. My nails are looking the best they ever have.

I have had a toenail fungus on my right big toe for almost 5 years. One day about a month or so ago I was browsing the internet and came upon an article which said peroxide kills fungus. I bought some and used an artists paintbrush to apply it every day. I finally managed to get most of the nail off and am continuing to apply the peroxide and at last I'm seeing pink and the itching etc has gone. Just make sure you don't get it all over other parts of your feet etc. I tried everything previously, Lamisil Once and ointment and various other remedies but finally I see light at the end of the tunnel!

Sounds interesting

What concentration of peroxide?

The peroxide I have is 12% (food grade). I pour a small amount into a little dish and apply with an artists paintbrush to keep it from getting on carpets etc. The nail is not perfect yet but I can see light at the end of the 5+year tunnel and I've spent a fortune of different types of Lamisil etc to no avail!

There are a few 'natural' remedies here:

beautyepic.com/tea-tree-oil...

using different recipes for applying a soaked cotton wool ball and binding it on with a bandage or something before bed every night... Tea Tree oil, apple cider vinegar, Epsom salts, Oregano oil etc.

I had an abscess on my foot about 3 weeks ago. I didn't want antibiotics because I knew what they would do to my gut, so treated the abscess myself successfully with natural poultices, plus Mesosilver applied locally using the same method as above. It cleared out and healed very well

Actually Mesosilver might be helpful for toenail fungus. I don't know as I've never used it for a fungal infection.
