Yes, heat absolutely makes mine worse and/or gives the perception that it's more uncomfortable. I wonder if it's due to the different balance of fluid but don't know. Also just had Covid and that has had a horrible impact as well-so Im not very happy 😒

Hi I'm so sorry to hear that and I hope you feel better soon. I think the weather really does effect us. It could be the fluids I'm just sipping peppermint tea and had an extra dose of Entersolgel Gel, so fingers crossed it gets easier. Thanks

This is quite intense heat at the moment, I felt weird more or less all day. Many people find their IBS plays up in hot weather.

For me personally, I find sudden weather changes get to me, particularly if it becomes gloomy and humid after a dry spell, or when thunder comes. I am worse when the skies are grey and it rains, I have no idea why. It could be psychological to some extent with me.

But this heat like we're getting at the moment is hard for the body to take, and will affect any weak spots we have,

Make sure you get electrolytes as well as just plain water. Diarrhea or very loose bowel movements can deplete electrolytes, and so can sweating.

Yes absolutely, usually IBSC but in this heat I get diarrhoea, I am so weak and light headed. Seeing Doc today, waited 6 weeks to see her and now not sure I will make it.

Oh no I hope you feel better soon. Fingers crossed you'll be fine to go to the GP. I take Entersolgel which really helps, as loperamide gives me tummy pain. Take care x

I hope you made it to see the Doc today. Did you get any help or advice? Take care, and hoping you will feel a little bit better soon.

I had a telephone appointment instead. She has referred me back to the gastroenterologist and I will be wairing a 24 hour heart monitor. It will take months but at least we got the ball rolling. What a relief the weather has cooled. I'm feeling a bit better already. Thank you for asking.

Yes, I had a sudden bout of colitis the other night and felt weak and woozy for 24 hours. I wondered if the heat allows those microorganisms to get going. After a day of fluids and toast, egg drop soup and rest I was much better. I use a couple homeopathic remedies that seem to be helpful. I try to minimize the meds whenever I can.

I have found homeopathic remedies have helped, when I look back on how I was, compared to now, but it's been a long slow subtle process. I see a homeopathic practitioner monthly, and it has made some difference for me, which I didn't expect to be honest. That's why I still go every month.

The heat definitely doesn’t help , it’s been extremely hot this year , I often wonder how people in very hot countries get on , it must be very difficult

I looked at the forecast and I think they are saying it's going to cool down a little bit but still fairly warm weather. It's cooler where I am tonight. That's great because last night I couldn't sleep till 5am. The air was too still and hot.

When there's thunder about, that's what get my gut more than anything. I had awful sharp cramps like I had rocks in my belly this morning and I don't always get that, like trapped wind. Then cramps again while I was trying to fix a garden tool later. Sure enough we had a mini thunderstorm for 30 minutes.

It's the burning diarrhoea in this heat. Stomach cramps and physically melting to boot. Bepanthem helps, think it's going to be a long night and time to up the steroids again. Stay safe every one and keep hydrated xxx

I am exactly the same. Hot weather definitely affects my IBS-D, so it always seems to get bad at this time of year. I always seem to feel more anxious too.
