hi, does anyone with IBS C also have proctalgia fugax (extreme rectal pain caused by nerves not relating to piles)? My symptoms match both.

proctalgia fugax and IBS C
I get this, not often, about once a month, it wakes me up at night and the pain is excruciating. I have ibs c. Not found a cure and would welcome any advice given on here. I just tough it out and it goes after about an hour.
I have exactly these symptoms I have ended up in AE a few times clutching my stomach and almost screaming in pain, I now get it most days, I have wondered if it is a symptom of withdrawel from Amitryptiline Doctors don’t seem to no much about withdrawing, if you are diagnosed with IBS every thing is due to that, it has a big bearing on your quality of life.
Hi I get it every now and then always at night it wakes me it's so painful. It's taken me a while to realise but I'm a side sleeper and always sleep curled up, now when i have an episode I lie flat on my back and it eases it after about 5-10 mins. It's as if my bowels in spasms and needs stretching out and it happens when I'm really constipated. I hope you can get some relief, until you've experienced this you will never understand how awful it is.
try taking a daily magnesium supplement, I rarely get it anymore.
