I completely empathise lovely. I am in the middle of flare and I am now on day 6 and the constant pain in my abdomen all over, so bloated, going from D to C, pain, take my meds, nothing works. Just miserable. I feel your pain. I have had it since I was 16 and since menopause it has been worse. I do understand, try not to worry, all will be ok and you will get through this, I promise. The pain will go eventually its just finding the right treatment plan. Flares are bloody horrible and IBS is generally just horrible. Its a daily battle with this condition, its about management and its a constant thing. Hold tight, you can vent as much as you like, we are all here for you. Thinking of you.
Thank you so much, this flarebhas been going for over 2 months now. 5 days relief and back again. Bloods on Friday....finally after 2 years of waiting for some typemof investigation.
Just terrified of what they may find. Thank you again for your kind word
Hey, you are very welcome, try to relax as anxiety and stress will exacerbate, I know you know this but it really does. Deep breathing, distraction, and self compassion. I had a flare for over two months had bloods, all came back fine, this IBS lark is not fun and does cause considerable stress and pain and impacts on quality of life. After two years of waiting you area dealing with a chronic situation and it is all about management. You will be fine on Friday and let me know how you get on darling. Remember you will be ok.
As an added "irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common condition that affects the digestive system. It causes symptoms like stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation. These tend to come and go over time, and can last for days, weeks or months at a time. It's usually a lifelong problem". Speak to your GP about management and see how it goes, it is trial and error and can take a while, but you can do this.
You need to try the Fodmap diet also you may have suddenly become lactose/dairy intolerant. It happened to me. Cut out absolutely everything containing milk, whey powder and lactose for 2 weeks. If no improvement go on the low fodmap diet. Avoid fizzy drinks, alcohol, garlic and onions.
Hi sorry to read how miserable u r feeling I feel ur pain I have been on a bad flare since January and nothing I do seems to help I've had blood and stool samples taken but all came back normal now waiting to see the gastroenterologist. So try not to worry about the bloods as worrying can make ur IBS worse. Hope your having a better day today I have the odd few good days than back to been in constant pain I get stomach cramp and middle back pain and like u it gets me down and fed up with life. Hope your bloods all come back ok let us know how u get to take care
I think if u don't have IBS u don't understand how it impacts on ur quality of life every day is a struggle I have to get up 2 hours before work just to get meds to work and have about an hour on the loo I suffer with IBS D but over the last few months I'm having a mix of IBS D and C that's a new one on me as always been D for over 20 years
Hi sorry to hear you are going through this as well I feel just like you. I've had constant abdomen ache/cramping and back pain everyday for over 3 mths now.. has such an impact on mood, I'm trying to stay positive but had no idea having ibs would be such a daily battle. Have you been to see a gastroenterologist I have an appointment in 2 wks xx
I could have written your post. I've been the same for 8 weeks now, constant pain, unable to sleep which makes me feel even worse. I've had numerous bloods, ct scans and colonoscopy. Told I had a ' loopy' colon and narrowing. Also diverticulosis. Mt gastro is sending me for another CT!, I'm really getting nowhere with these tests. The only respite I get is every other night I take Zopliclone which helps me sleep, I won't take it more frequently as it can be addictive, so I have a relatively pain free alternate day.
I’m the same been in pain for ever it seems like that. I’m got loopy bowel with narrowing and Diverticular and had scans and been told by one specialist I have to learn to live with the pain . And he didn’t have a magic wand to help me . Got doctors today and a actual face to face appointment which is like gold dust . So see what he says . But let’s hope I get something to help . I do hope you feel better soon and gets some answers .
