I started Highschool a few weeks ago and I get panic attacks everyday. During summer my IBS wasn’t as bad, but now constipation is a real issue for me. Can stress cause bad IBS or am I just looking to far into things? My stomach is just super heavy today and it’s giving me anxiety about school, so I’d like to know. 😓

Hi sorry u r feeling like that yes stress and anxiety plays a big part in IBS have u been to see ur GP or is there anyone at school u could speak to as they may be able to put things in place for you as my son had trouble at school with his stomach and was given a toilet pass so just a thought
Stress is definitely a major factor with IBS C , I have it too CBT has helped through the NHS , it’s a talking therapy , it helps put stress & anxiety into perspective. Is also mention it at school ,I’m sure they will offer some help & advice if you ask the right person .
Stress is one of them main reasons why you suffer more with IBS. I think there is an issue that is playing on your mind. You need to think about what is making you feel this way. The trouble is with anxiety it makes us feel more agitated and we feel the way we do and how your feeling right now at school. Speak to your GP to see if you can have something to help with this. As for your constipation there is Laxido. Its a sachet formula that you can take upto three times a day. But my advice is to take one before bed to start off with and when you wake up in the morning you should be able to release more of the constipation symptoms.
