Hello has anyone had a face to face appointment with their doctor. I’ve been still sick for 2 years nearly now and have not seen a gastroenterologist only had phone appointment and that’s been cancelled twice. Any advice x Amber

My GP surgery still aren’t doing face to face unless after a telephone consultation it is deemed necessary. I had a telephone consultation with a nurse practitioner at 8.30 pm ( that’s all they could offer me) and to be honest I’m already doing all of what she suggested, but the best thing was actually being listened to by a sympathetic person who didn’t make me feel like a time waster. My IBS is an ever evolving nuisance just like it is for us all. I hope you get a way forward for yourself x

Have not seen a doctor face-to-face since 2019. I have written several letters and get a telephone call with a GP. In May I had stool and blood tests that all came back normal. They now ask me to use e-consult, but none of the options are applicable. Very frustrating.

I find the e-consult brilliant as they can determine what to do by how you write your problem. I usually get a phone call the day after or an appointment later if not urgent. If they think you need seeing they will see you.

Hi, I had a face to face appointment with a Gp recently but they were reluctant to give me one. Referred for a colonoscopy on the NHS and I'm going to pay to see a gastro consultant on Friday. Fingers crossed for me and good luck, keep pushing for everything. X

Really positive appointment thanks. Finally getting everything moving forward, no thanks to my Gp. Full explanation regarding what it could all be, ibs, diverticulitis, gallbladder problems or a fatty liver. Referring me for a full abdo ct and gallbladder scan as well as the colonoscopy. A lovely man and explained everything to me. Made me very reassured but it's dreadful with regards to my Gp surgery that I had to pay to move anything forward . I have no faith in them at all Just to sit and wait for my appointments now but my stress levels have come right down. Onwards and upwards. 😊 x

Just ring and ask for an urgent appointment, exaggerate your sympotoms if you have to.

I spoke to the receptionist at my doctors surgery this afternoon asking about the situation with appointments at present and she said they are not doing face to face, first port of call is a telephone call but cannot give a time. She said this is what they are being told to do, it's not their doing!

Hi,The only people that I know who have managed to see a Dr or a consultant are people who can afford to pay private. Funny how you can get seen if you pay.

I have also been unwell since having my covid vaccines back in Jan 21, following all the consultants advice and nothing is working, things are just not the same not being able to get an examination. How can they treat you properly over the phone, it's disgraceful 😔

My phone consult next week has been changed to a face to face. Thought it was odd. As I'm at the hospital anyway that day it's worked out well to be honest
