Has anyone experienced bile vomiting episodes after having gall bladder out? I had gall bladder out over 8 years ago and since this time, I've been in hospital over 30 times with yellow bile vomiting which will not stop until I've been given saline via bag drip. The vomiting always start after Ive not passed stool for 4 days and then start continually passing stool which eventually turns into diarrhea. Consultants do not know what causes the vomiting? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Bile vomiting
Hi sorry about your problems since gallbladder removed. Have you been checked that a gallstones wasnt left behind when you had your op 8 years ago as that could be causing your problems. Wish you well.
oddly . this weekend I suffered a vomiting attack in the middle of the night, the only substance that I passed was bile - I learned later. Never happened before , I very rarely vomit fortunately--as I usually faint on those occasions- I was informed that bile vomiting happens when the stomach is empty, ? On this occasions it followed a IBS diarrhoea attack.- so are they connected?
Hello, thank you for your reply, greatly appreciated. Sorry to hear of your bile sickness episode. Usually, I do have diarrhoea at the end of my many visits to the toilet. So, the stomach being empty is probably right as it is always just bile that I keep bringing up. Unfortunately, the sickness will not stop until I have a saline drip at the hospital! Anti sickness tablets will not stop it. I’m off to see a consultant on 24 August, so hopefully he will be able to advise? Hope you don’t have any more bile episodes as they are horrible. Take care.
Hi Harley 1020, I think Tamerisk has something there. I used to be more IBS(Diarrhoea) than I am now. Not sure what I am now! But when I was more runny, I often woke up in the morning and was sick from bile (green bile), I guess because my stomach was empty. Also I often used to be sick when I got towards the end of my several trips to the loo each day! I think it was more yellow then. So there is definately a connection. I still have my gallbladder but am wondering that when you get bunged-up for a few days, the bile inside you might not have a form of escape due to constipation and so it has to come out the other end! It may not even have anything to do with having no gallbladder. Just a thought.
Hello. thank you for your reply, greatly appreciated. I think it’s a good idea of yours - the bile not being able to escape anywhere when constipated over quite a few days. I’m off to see a consultant on 24 August, about the bile vomiting so hopefully he might be able to advise! Does your bile sickness eventually stop? My vomiting will not stop until I’ve had a saline drip in the hospital as even anti sickness tablets do not work, Thanks once again. You have my greatest sympathy with having the bile sickness. Take care.
Yes, the sickness always stopped and didn't last very long but then I was more IBS(D) then. I generally went to the loo three times each day (spread throughout the day to suit what had to be done). I could have sat in the loo all day going but you can't do that when you have a child to look after (especially one with ADHD). I actually quite liked it when I was sick in the morning as it often meant I would have a reasonably good day! And if I was sick at the end of going to the loo that normally meant that I had got everything out and it would settle eventually! Like I said, with you, I think it might have been because of the constipation, the bile had nowhere to go and so had to come out one way or the other. Perhaps there was just too much of it for the body to cope with.
