Travel to USA with IBS... help!

I’m due to travel to Las Vegas later in the year but eating out is impossible due to my IBS and anxiety around it. I know I don’t have any other option as I need to eat whilst there, but wondered if anyone has experience on what the public toilet facilities are like, accessibility etc. Hoping to get some info to calm my nerves as I should be excited but I’m not due to the above abs the thought of travelling with IBS

I would suggest asking for plain salmon, or chicken, potato and simple vegetable, and no sauces. Most restaurants can accommodate this. If there is any difficulty, speak to the manager and explain that you have a health issue (no need to go into details), and you must have simple food. I have never been to Las Vegas, but am in the US. I am guessing that the hotels will have convenient bathrooms. When you arrive at the hotel, check out the bathroom situation and make sure you know where they are located. You can also take an Immodium, or half a one. I would experiment with this at home first, though, as they can also cause constipation. Traveling with IBS is not easy, so give yourself credit.

I have been to Las Vegas many times and can assure you all hotels have plenty of toilet facilities for everyone to use. They will be situated on the ground floor as that is where the casino's are. Not sure of what you cannot eat but up until Covid there were plenty of buffet restaurants which I used. You can get snacks in Walgreens some are gluten free. Good luck as I will be going next year and will have a problem sourcing food if there are no buffets

Ask for a seat on the aircraft near the bathroom so you know when it's vacant. From recollection all the casinos/hotel foyers have plenty of bathroom facilities and you should be able to just wander in and use them.

I always pack a supply of gluten free/dairy free bars when I travel so I know I have something safe to eat in emergencies.

If you have food intolerances the US restaurants are generally offer more options than restaurants here.

I hope you enjoy your trip!!

As a regular to Vegas I can assure you that the bathroom facilities are immaculate and immense. I go every year, it’s the flight there that I panic about though!

I’m glad to hear this as I have been worrying! Yep, very nervous about the flight but will take plenty of Loperamide beforehand and get Diazepam from GP to help calm me. Ruled my life for too long so need to try to carry on!
