Are you keeping a food diary? That's generally how your doctor or dietician will diagnose you. There are loads of apps if you're not doing it already but I just created a spreadsheet. The thing is your issues might be more than just lactose so it might be hard to work out what your food triggers are without some expert advice.

If you are avoiding lactose then you'll need to read the ingredients list of everything you eat. Most supermarkets have a good lactose free range. Tesco have really love dairy and wheat free shortbread which I love as a treat.

Remember that cutting lactose reduces your calcium intake so you might want to consider a good supliment.

Good luck
