IBS/IBD ?

Hi,

After having covid infection in August , I'm having issue with my tummy. Unfortunately, I was treated from covid with broad spectrum of antibiotics. After that I've developed health anxiety and can't concentrate or do anything.

My symptoms are irregular bowel movements, stomach gurgling after eating and bloating at night and now some burping after eating.

1 month after covid I was reffered to gastro.

Tests done:

blood, h.pylori, c-diff, calprotectin which was elevated 212.

They did colonoscopy and expect one flat polyp they didn't found anything.

I was able to calm down a little bit and I could eat anything for solid 2 months.

I even return some weight that I lost during covid, but now again I don't have appetite.

Then I did redo of calp and it was 93 and my stomach started to be worse since then. We did again with the doctor and it was 147.

I'm so scare and the next step probably will be pillcam which I have to wait long.

I can't concentrate or do anything while waiting for the next steps.

The bloating is even worse then before every night.

I'm 33 years old male.

Any advice is appreciated !

As I understand it covid symptoms can sometimes last a long time. Keep working with your doctor to get to the bottom of your GI problems. Meanwhile, eat simple and bland food.

I find your treatment very strange. Antibiotics are only used for bacterial infections, they don't work on a virus, and antibiotics kill all intestinal flora and cause real gut problems. I took them for a chest infection and that was the beginning of my IBS symptoms and food problems. Try and de-stress and get a load of good bugs growing back from fermented foods, prebios and certain probiotics. Lay off the sugary carbs for a bit. All the best.
