I stuffer with IBS-C but every now and again like maybe every few months, I’ll have a random episode where I just keep needing to go to the toilet and loads will come out each time and it lasts for about an hour and every time I finish I need it again a few minutes but it’s not like diarrhoea as it’s not the same consistency and it’s not like I have to run to the bathroom but it’s just really uncomfortable and crampy and seems to be for no reason? I’m wondering if it’s related to it being my time of the month but I’m not sure. Does anyone else get this?

I completely get what you are saying it isn’t a nice thing to have its the same for me I usually take buscopan tablets that usually helps have you taken any medication?
Yes i have this now! Horrible night, started at 11 .. not sure what ive eaten to start this as I have Diverticular disease and am lactose intolerant so really careful. I did sneak some biscuits yesterday tho! Feel awful and wiped out after every visit to the loo. I feel yr pain, get better soon..
You might be better to have a word with your gp first only you say you suffer with constipation and then have a bout of diarrhoea. Buscapan can cause constipation and it might make that worse for you. Wish you well
Hi. I get the worst cramping and poops at that time. Period poops are a real thing and for IBS sufferers it's worse. For me it's a hot water bottle every time...with ibuprofen. Good luck 👍🏻
Hi Ericaxmai,
I am not diagnosed with a bowel disorder, but I am awaiting tests at the moment. I do occasionally get these symptoms. Thanks to the advice on this group, I have started wearing pads and I’m glad I have as it has meant I can get along with my day and my anxieties have gone.
You are not alone.
Yes i have this, but usually a bit more often than that. Its called the 'dumping' syndrome i think, its when you are constipated for a long period of time and then it all eventually empties out. Feels like you are washed out afterwards, and takes a day or 2 to recover
