extreme constipation?

so it’s been about 10 days since I’ve had a bowel movement. I’ve taken 10 stool softeners today, three prune lax, A cup of senna tea and one Ex-Lax. i’m getting urges to go but I literally can’t push it out. It’s like a sharp pain and I can’t sit up or walk. It hurts so much. Am I going to be OK? Will eventually come out?

Have u been eating normal through out these 10 days? Are u taking any prescriptions? Do u frequently have problems with constipation?

My diet is pretty bad but I haven’t changed how I’m eating then from when I wasn’t constipated. I am on trazodone and Seroquel, I get constipated a lot but never this severe

I have been taking subutex for many years and it significantly slows the digestive system. I'll go a week without a bowel movement sometimes. It gets scary! The only things I've found to help is slightly reducing my dose, eating at least 1 activia yogurt a day, and drinking a cap full of miralax in a cup of water. Oh and pepto bismal is crucial with stomache aches!

Pepto bismal will add to constipation, it's supposed to be for treating diarrhoea!

You could try a glycerine suppository x

Go to the hospital and have yourself checked, you could have an obstruction in your intestines or the doctors will help you remove the stool inthe event your stool is to hard to come out, they will help by inserting the hand & pulling the stool out it doesn't pain since they add oil to help it easily come out. Do not force it to much or else you can cause internal or external haemeroids or piles

I agree with Mwaakas, go to A&E or ER, and get the doctor to check you out. Once they remove the BM it is important to not return to that state again. You can help by eating 2 Kiwi fruits per day and taking daily stool softeners. Also, drink at least two litres of water per day and take a brisk one mile walk every day. Good luck, keep well, have a happy New Year and stay safe.

Hello vaidakay,My husband had same as you he took 1 senokot in evening and the next day made him want to go but didn't come and he took 2 movicol in the glass of water as indicated on the leaflet. It take nearly 24 hour after taking this then it came out with a difficulty in 2 or 3 time not in one go. He used to try lots of laxative before but it did not work for him. You can try it, if it doesn't work you will need to see the GP or Emergency for help. Good luck!
