I’m having severe digestion problems causing excessive gas, nausea, reflux and uncontrollable bowel movements wondering if this is IBS?
All bloods have come fine and about to attend a scan for stomach and pelvis next week.
It all sort of got worst just before Christmas and It’s just getting worst and worst. Can’t really go anywhere without planning it around if there is a loo nearby because I never know what’s going to happen and when it’s going to happen.
Feeling pretty miserable! If anybody has got any answers or suggestions I would love to hear from you.
Thank you

It sure sounds like it. Did you changed your diet? Try with gluten free, lacto free, sugar free. Add fibre, like morning oatmeal cooked on water. Peppermint tea to reduce bloating... Avoid fruits. The only fruit that doesn’t cause bloating for me is banana and honey melon ... read about FODMAP
Thank you for replying, No I have not changed my food intake as yet bit over the last month I have naturally minimised my food intake, at the moment the only things I can really stomach are chicken, boiled potatoes, avocado and grilled white fish. I do not have any bloating or pain. My stomach is constantly over active, even at night when I wake up I can hear it and feel it at work. It never seems to go into rest mode.
Its early days and the GP is ruling out everything else and has done bloods for cancer markers, ovaries, pancreas, liver, stool sample and I am having a scan of the pelvis and stomach on the 4th Feb. They then want to go in to do different oscopy's over the next few weeks. I always thought that IBS was to do with cramps and bloating and I don't have either of those?
Ibs has many more symptoms. Feeling like you have ants in your tummy, sort of nervous inside. Noise from intestine. Reflux can be present too. Even migraine is connected with flare ups. Another symptom is skin on your face goes red, often has pimples etc. Stress is major cause. We all started to have symptoms after one major stressful event.
I feel for you. Have had these troubles for 35 odd years, you have to find your own way. I take probiotics and multi vitamins with iron every day, and imodium when going out. I'm afraid IBS is difficult to treat by doctors. I'm retired now so don't have to fret about work but had awful embarrassing episodes at work! Good luck my dear. I wish you well, you are not alone x
Hi . Just a thought , I can’t eat advacado it gives me bad tummy upset and are you leaving skins on potatoes when boiling ?
Both these things are a cause for flare ups with IBS-D
If you have the Montash University FOD map app it shows you all this information.
I know with this damm IBS problem it’s different for everyone I’ve had it since my early twenty’s and I’m 66 now . The FOD MAP DIET saved my life , you have to percivere , but they show you the quantities you can tolerate.
I can eat out no problem, I cook for my family the same food I eat ( I use the green part of a leek instead of onions , no one can tell difference )
I know it doesn’t work for all but I can honestly say I stuck with it and it worked for me. Give the advacardo a miss for a few days and see
