Keto and IBS

Has anyone success with Keto Diet for IBS? I have chronic debilitating IBS where I can not work. I have tried FODMAPS, SIBO and Keto. I am still struggling with weight issues, I imagine from inflamtion. I have worked out 6 days a week since January 1 and barely any weightloss. I thought I might try Keto again. But I need clean keto, any suggestions would be welcomed :)

I have tired low carb. Not keto. It helped me lose 9.5 kgs in three months. I found it too restrictive though. I suffer from mild IBS. So no significant effects on the ibs that I noticed good or bad. But according to my research keto is not something you should do long term as the effects of same are not know yet. I would say try it for three months then take a break. See how your ibs feels.

Also would suggest to get tested for food intolerances if you haven’t done it already.

Thank you Laxmik. I've already done food intolerance testing, plus a bunch of other testing. I think I'll do a mild version of Keto, or just less carbs.

3 weeks a ago I started following the Atkins diet not easy but now I’m very into it and it’s become second nature there are a lot of lovely meals you can have and desserts. My IBS has literally disappeared and to test this I reverted back for 24 hours few days ago and the pain came back after hour or so. I understand it’s probably a fluke and I’m lucky to have found a lifestyle that suits my gut but I recommend everyone give it a try I’ve also lost 10lbs in the 3 weeks. Result all round lol

eat clean, no packaging, ie cakes, biscuits, flour or anything like that. My daughter did keto, shes a size 8, gosh if I could use that, and know how, I would. I think its the chemicals they put in the food to increase shelf life, that our bodies cannot cope with, so the colon goes, got to get rid of this syt. hense guts ache, and the run to the loo and bloating. Also SAD, in winter, all due to toxic gut. So, start with rice, and chicken., then add vegetables, one at a time, so see how that feels, only change slowly, then you will notice, as I did, my tummy had a rest of that aching. bottom sores because of constant wiping. You might find, onions, irritate. Coffee irritates the gutt, and tea has lots off caffine in, cut them out, and then change to decaff, as that will help you sleeping at night. some people are very very sensitive. I found out I was when I had a mc donalds coffee, I was up all night, and right until the next day, and then started to feel tired. Change to soya, which is kinder and softer to your tummy. The sediment seems to settle the tummy. Now have more protein to help with your energy levels, and drink more, liquids. fruit tea, if it has sweetner, in it, it will make you have the runs. So sparkling water will be nice. Then at night if hungry I will have fat free aldi greek yogurt. with frozen fruit. you can have bacon, eggs but poached, bbeans might be okay, but will give you boost for the day, mushrooms, and tomatoes. sausages might have,,, stuff in it so see if you can find a sausage maker and make your own. no crisps, or packets of anything,,,, just clean eating, and see how that feels.
