Hi
Does anyone have trouble with products with dextrose in, it just seems when I have an IBS attack I have probably had this as an ingredient in something.
Thank you

Good morning Huggit,
It is not one on my list to avoid and is apparently classed as low fodmap ingredient.
What I normally do is cut out the suspect ingredient for about 6 weeks and record the differences in how I am feeling, trouble is so many ingredients in any one product - making it harder to pin point
Best wishes
Debs
Hi yes it is so hard to pin point anything I have been trying for years, I am amazed by how many ingredients are in some products trying my best to just it basic foods 😀
Have you looked into the Low Fodmap Diet? Things that we think are good for us, really aggravated IBS - like garlic, leeks, onions etc
Thats a good point if you have basic food, it would make it easier - I am vegan and can't have Gluten so anything purchased from the shop is loaded with ingredients
Hi yes I tried the FODMAP diet but found I was reactive to gluten free breads and oats so it became very restrictive.
Gluten free bread is laced with sweetners and fibres that are on the avoid list, not to mention GF bread tastes revoluting (in my opinion) 🤢
I have had to resort to cooking from scratch a lot of the time. The low fodmap diet is not designed for life, in my book it mentions doing it for about 6 weeks then introducing the foods
I have been recently eating cinnamon and raisin bagels I think this is the first thing to avoid as haven’t had one this morning and my stomach feels ok 👌 they tasted lovely though
