I can eat anything I don’t get put off food I love the smell of food but I don’t get hungry like my body doesn’t tell me you need food

Hi there,
This sounds familiar to me. I see in your profile that you're 20. I'd say when I was your age I had a small appetite too. As I got older (now in my 40s), my appetite grew & yours might change too.
Even until recently, I often skipped breakfast or had a snack after 9.30 as I wasn't hungry first thing. However, skipping meals is bad advice for IBS - eating regularly helps many people as it helps your gut stay regular.
So I think your approach of eating at mealtimes, even if you're not actively hungry, is a good one. You don't need to stuff yourself however! Just eat what you comfortably can.
Since I've been in lockdown, I haven't had the usual pressures to leave the house in the morning etc. so I haven't been skipping meals as is my bad habit. I've found that my appetite in the morning is better! I've also stopped going straight for coffee/tea first thing. I think that might suppress my appetite rather than help.
Best wishes to you!
