The burning sounds as though it is GERD related. Do you take Omeprazole or something similar? Are your BMs normal (for you)? I think you may have more than one condition, which is affected by the food you are eating. Ask your GP to refer you to a dietician so you can try the Fodmap diet.

Have you been formally diagnosed with IBS or GERD (acid reflux) by a doctor?

It definitely does sound like IBS but also gastritis. The gut goes from your mouth to your anus and any malfunction in the gut can cause many different symptoms that you can get some of all of or changing frequently. IBS can and often does cause anxiety although you might not realise it. You may not think you have anxiety but then you can be even depressed and not know yourself. Anxiety can cause the fuzzy head.

50 to 60% of IBS sufferers or those with bowel disorders and mostly women for some reason will also suffer with fibromyalgia and again with varying degrees. This can also cause the fuzzy head and pain. They usually say that fibromyalgia pain is widespread and symmetrical being sore to touch in certain areas of the body but I believe and have experienced the symmetrical pain at times and then single pain in areas usually under ribs or back and sometimes in the upper tummy. I get the fuzzy head with it too.

As for the stomach pain you may have a Helicobacter pylori infection in the stomach. This can cause gnawing pains in the stomach back and chest with acid. Taking an acid blocker like a ppi (proton pump inhibitor) such as omeprazole lansoprazole esomeprazole pantoprazole or h2 blockers like ranitidine cimetidine can upset the acid balance in the stomach causing you to not digest food or get the vitamins and nutrients out your food or even reduce vitamin absorption which can cause lots of different bodily malfunctions and illness. B12 deficiency etc. Acid reducing meds can also allow this h pylori infection to come out the stomach lining and thrive. It then can cause ulcers and then the acid gets worse and when acid gets on the ulcers can cause bleeding. Ppis are supposed to help ulcers heal and reduce acid but sometimes like above they can cause more acid.

In order to have a test for h pylori you need to come off ppis for 14 days. The test is either a stool sample, blood test, breath test or a tiny biopsy taken with a camera gastroscopy. They all need you to be off ppis for at least 14 days or it can give a false result. You can however take h2 blockers like ranitidine (currently unavailable) cimetidine, famotidine or gaviscon off the shelf acid suppressant upto 2 days before a test. If the h pylori test is positive you would be treated with a ppi or h2 blocker like above along with two different antibiotics at the same time (eradication therapy) h pylori can become quickly resistant to antibiotics so two different antibiotics has a better chance of attacking it so if one fails the other might succeed. The infection can cause derisive gastritis when the infection gets deep in the stomach lining which it does as it doesnt really like acid. This is why the ppis are given to reduce acid and allow to h pylori to come out to play as it were so the antibiotics can attack it.

So basically you could have ibs gastritis acid reflux anxiety fibromyalgia or h pylori. You could have one of the above or several or all of them
