Hello there, I'm very embarrassed to talk about this but well, for about a month I have inconsistencies in my stools, I go to the bathroom once a day but with quite a lot of fear and the way it comes out worries me a lot and usually makes me anxious, the rest of the day I expel quite a lot of gas and sometimes I feel a slight discomfort in my abdomen.
I'm 18 years old, I can't go to the hospital because of the quarantine in my country, do you think it's normal for me to have diarrhoea like this? At the moment I didn't have constipation.
Today I had dark brown stools, I'm afraid it's blood in stools, I hope I can see a doctor when the pandemic is over, but it's very upsetting and worrying, thank you

Are you able to access a telephone appointment with a GP? You could then e-mail a photograph of your BMs. In the meantime keep a daily diary, noting consistency of BM, together with food eaten and whether or not there is any pain.
Please make an appointment with you GP and they may well ask them to send you the pictures through to them, only a medical profession can look at stools and give you advice. Please do not post stool pictures on here, many thanks
You should be able to get a phone consult with your Dr to get a referral to see a specialist or can you wear a face mask if you need to go to the Doctor?
I'm not a Dr but the stools are quite light in color & seem to float on occasion & im wondering if you could have high cholestrol with some gall bladder or liver issues. Do you eat a lot of fatty food, like full cream milk & full cream cheese, fatty deli meats, sausages & chips etc?
You could immediately cut back cheese to reduced fat & buy low fat milk, NOT skim milk as you may not like the cheaper varieties of skim milk. I always try to buy a better quality low fat milk & cheese. Try chewing food much more & take your time when you're sitting down to a meal.
I would not put off seeing a Doctor because you mention you felt uncomfortable. Do you sometimes get constipation & was it soft the day you thought there was blood in the stool (you never said if it was)? Are you drinking alcohol more so lately?
I sincerely hope you bite the bullet & speak to a Doctor & get a referral. Just wear a good mask & when you get out of Dr surgery have hand sanitiser with you to wipe your hands & when you first arrive home, just strip off all your clothes & put them straight into a washing machine or bucket of soapy water & at the same time get into the shower & wash uour hair & body thoroughly so you dont bring any contaminants into the family home. Just dont touch your face with unclean hands if you have no sanitiser when you leave Dr surgery.
Also wipe down front door knob with soapy water if you didnt get a chance to clean your hands. Dont wait till the pandemic is over because it could go on for 6 months & it is one of the saddest things about this situation, when people stop getting medical help that could treat medical issues early enough to make a full revovery - don't just hope it will go away... It may be something simpler than you think but time is important so please don't waste it.
