I recently posted about being careful re SIBO test results and you should be able to find by searching. If not pm me.
It depends on who you are getting the tests through? Is this being recommended by a full qualified doctor or are you seeing a nutritional therapist? If it is the latter I would step away very quickly and not waste your money. SIBO is the latest health fad and many nutritional therapists are making serious money from it. It is possible to have SIBO, but I heard from a trained gastro that these cases are rare. The tests for it aren't accurate. After tests from a nutritional therapist I spent months being made more unwell from the treatment from it - highly restrictive diet, liquid diet, antibiotics and antimicrobials - I lost a stone in weight and lost all confidence in myself. NHS testing diagnosed me with something completely different and not SIBO. I am now doing much better. If you don't have one of a set of distinct root causes (I can post the list if you want), it is unlikely you have it whatever the test comes back with. I've put the link Maureen posted in several of my previous posts on this, which you might want to read as per her suggestion:
I am having the test at the local hospital. I have just had an endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy. It showed severe gastritis and advanced diverticulitis. I had a really bad chest infection in November which lasted till end of January. I had 5 courses of different antibiotics, 3 courses of steroids and 3 different inhalers.
