Nissan Fundoaplication

Hi there I’m 2 weeks post op and really struggling. Had to go back in after a week, as struggled to drink and eat ( well slop lol) they put a ballon down my oesophagus to try and stretch it a bit.

Just wanted to hear how others got on after having this surgery.

I had it about thirty years ago, and it must have worked because I have never had a problem, (other than occasional heartburn) since. I remember not liking what they did or the way they did it, but I can't remember, now what they actually did. I must be getting old(er). Good luck

Thanks for the reply, yes my aunty had it done years ago too and couldn’t remember any major problems. Did take her about a month to eat solid food though.

Hi had mine early this year apart from the liquid diet and feeling sooo hungry and trapped wind the recovery was fine ,lost some weight but it soon came back on when I could eat lol ,still haven't been physically sick don't know if I ever will ,but do take tablets for nausea if I get the sicky feeling ,had no heartburn or indigestion since 👍🏻

Thanks for the reply, there is hope for me yet then ! Just seems a long process at the moment. How long was it before you could eat properly ?

About 4 weeks ,started with 2 weeks liquid ie soups strained then gradually started with 1 scrambled egg ...was delicious lol

Well I’m week 2 today- still on the slop lol. Takes me an hour to eat very little ! I just want a gin and tonic and a packet of crisps ! That’s my aim 😂

Oh yea and no fizzy drinks u will feel like ya gonna blow up 😲😲😲 I still can't enjoy a can of fizzy pop just small mouthfuls 👍🏻🍾🍾

Still now ? With the fizzy. I’m going to have to let my tonic water go flat ! Lol 😆
