Just to let you know that the nhs should refer you to a dietician. But you often have to have ibs for several months before they will refer and then the wait can be several months! I was referred over 6 months ago and still waiting for an appointment!
I have suffered with issues with bowels for 3 years now & it's only now that my new doctor actually listened to me.... I have to take a stool sample in as now they can detect ibs via that way...I think...that what doctor said🤔
The only test I have heard from to detect IBS is IBS-smart which is a blood test not available on the NHS and even that only works if your IBS was caused by food poisoning. In general IBS does not show up on any tests. I have had a stool test on NHS and it tends to rule out various issues, which then arrives at a "we don't know what is causing your symptoms so lets call it IBS" diagnosis.
Get yourself some ' Bimuno daily' got rid of my ibs after years of it.
