Been following fodmap diet for 4 weeks under supervision of a dietician. So far no improvement, feeling so down, as having waited 7 months to see the dietician, was desperate for it to help with my symptoms. How long can it take to see an improvement, I was thinking there would be some after a month if it was going to help. Am I one of the unlucky ones that it can’t help? I do hope not! See her again in 3 weeks, so will soldier on till then, with fingers crossed for some relief 🤞🏼🤞🏼

How long for fodmap to work?
Hi, I am using fodmap and have been for 5 years, initially it took a few weeks because I didn’t immediately cut milk/dairy from my diet but fodmap highlighted that was a problem and as soon as I cut that the effects were immediate. I too worked with a dietician and she was great and the only medical professional to really listen to me. Hope things improve for you soon, wishing you all the best.
My sister didn’t see any results after 4 weeks but she carried on and now after 8-10 weeks her bloating and constipation is significantly better. She is still going through the reintroduction phase and has already identified a few food triggers. Xx
It took around 6weeks to work for me thought it wasn’t going to work but did help in the end I have never been able to fully get off it though as everything starts my bowels off again xxxgood luck
Thanks for all your replies, gives me a bit of hope. Will keep going anyway, and any improvement would be fantastic! X
