IBS? Anxiety? Acid reflux? Pain in sternum and back area.

Pinching pain under right rib, pain in sternum area that is also in same location in the back, nausea and out of breath at times. Burning in stomach and bloating. I had hida scan done negative. At hospital ruled out heart. Said acid reflux. Gi doctor diagnosed me with IBS. I have anxiety and these pains don't help it. I'm fed up with it sometimes. I have prickly feeling skin that sometimes feels hot and sensitive to cold. I am also sensitive to heat...I get hot really easy and nausea. The sick to my stomach feeling sometimes gets overwhelming. I have a twin sister who is also experiencing these things. She had gallbladder removed and still has symptoms. Does anxiety have a role in this? I sometimes wonder. Does anyone else have this? I tend to look at people and ask myself why do I feel like this and wish I looked as happy and athletic as they are. I am 45 so I wonder if menopause has a play in this also. I went on a keto diet which seemed to help... But still, have symptoms but not full force. Anyone have any suggestions please share. God bless❤

From what you describe, I think menopause could certainly be part of this. The hot and cold thing for sure. I'm past it now, but used to get hot and flushed all down the left side.

Anxiety is also a factor and the gut brain link is well established. Here is an article from 2015 which explains it. medicalnewstoday.com/articl...

Are you taking anything for your acid reflux? If not, perhaps ask your GP to prescribe something, although there things you can buy over the counter, such as Ranitidine which might help. You could also talk to a pharmacist.

Probably not helpful comparing yourself to other people, it is human nature to think everyone is doing better than you, but probably not reality. Best wishes.

I got a lot worse going through the menopause. The flushes don't help IBS at all.

Thank you all for replying to my comment. It is really appreciated. Sometimes it's overwhelming to not feel good. I have gone on a keto diet and has helped some. Went full keto for 40 days. Now still eat healthy but eat carbs once in a while. As far as the acid reflux isn't every day now..... I get sternum pain tho. The sternum pain hurts and goes in my back in the same area as my sternum. I am going to try hypnosis for my anxiety. Still, have the really hot rushes from inside out. It makes me panic a little. But makes me sick to my stomach. I have to limit hot beverages and hot showers. I thought menopause was after 50. I've noticed my back heels hurt and ankles bother me like I'm having more joint issues. I guess that had to do with the premenopausal thing. Will have to do research on how to cope with the ibs. Being a women sucks lol! I hope everyone is in good health and enjoys their lives! Send my thoughts to you all. God bless!❤
