Still pain after gallbladder removed

I recently had gallbladder removal surgery to which was said to solve all my issues (had gallstones dr thought that was the source of pain), however I still feel the same pain in my upper right quadrant, but now I get back pain with it. It’s kinda relieved when I drink smooth move medicinal tea, 3 ballerina tea, or fatbuster tea...used for senna purposes due to constipation. For 3 years I’ve dealt with this pain. It goes away when I eat strictly, but came back once I ate the wrong foods twice. I’ve got to stick strictly to a diet plan. Pain is below my rib cage in the same spot every time it’s triggered.

Hi,

Your story is identical to mine. I had my gallbladder removed ten years ago this week and still had the same symptoms afterwards. I’ve been on lansoprazole for all of those years and I’m fairly sure I have GERD/GORD ( depending which side of the pond you are on!) - look it up, you may be able to relate to the symptoms. I thought the lansoprazole wasn’t working but when I warned myself off them I was much worse so they were obviously working, just not well enough! I now live on a very restricted diet and never eat after 4pm- it’s no fun at all. I find bread, plain cereal, rice are my only friends. Very plain food, no fruit at all, little veg, no sauces, spices or herbs. No meals out- it’s truly awful for my family as well as me. I’ve just had more tests. Camera down my throat for 24 hours, I’m hoping it will give the medics an insight to treat me better. I’m not sure if this helps you at all, but if you research it, you may be able to relate or rule it out and knowledge is power as they say! Good luck 😀

I too had my gallbladder taken out with no difference in my GI issues. I have been dealing with this for 6 years. Some days are better than others. Everyone is different and all we can do is keep playing with our diets once all of the medical testing is done only to be left with no cure. Good luck. Keep trying. What works today may fail tomorrow. But we live to see another day to try again
