Hi there has anyone had diverticulitis with bad nausea, fever, changed bowel habits (and bit of blood on paper) but without any tummy pain? (Although an achey back)??? Many thanks

Hi! Budgie5

I have only had one attack of diverticulitis it lasted 48 hours or so. I experienced raised temperature, intermittent pain left had side, back ache, and loose stools. I understand that some people experience a little blood loss on toilet paper due to that part of the bowel being inflamed but not me. This symptom should always be checked out by your GP if it does not ease.

Hi Linley thanks so much for your reply, that's exactly how i feel - grotty with temperate, loose stool, backache but also bad nausea. I'm encouraged by your reply in that it only lasted 48 hours so I'm thinking you probably managed this at home? And didn't need antibiotics? thanks again for taking the time to reply. Did you ever work out what triggered it?

No, don't know what triggered it-I put it down to one of those things, like a cold etc.

Yes, I turned the corner after 48 hours but felt tired for a few days after luckily it was the weekend so didn't have to take time off work.
