Having woken up and had a couple of toilet runs (literally! ) I'm left feeling rubbish and not wanting to do anything. What motivates you out of these feelings ? What inspires you to get on with your day/ or try and do the things you like ? I mostly, surrender to the pain I'm in ( I have other issues too) even though I know I'm aware of what I could be doing and trying to force myself out, it's difficult.

Motivation
My own personal motivation is that there are other IBS sufferers worse off than me(and I wish I could way a magic wand) so I get myself up, washed and dressed and take Imodium wait until I am a little more comfortable and carry on with my day. Its works 80% of the time. But if I get lower RIF pain with wind I have to lay down take mebeverine and wait for it to ease. I try so hard not to let IBS rule my life. I have no other issues. Wish you good luck
Thank you for the reply. It's good that you get on with things as much as possible and know when to take time out.
hi it might sound a bit strange but I suggest you get a pet , they are amazing therapy. Without my cat Lucy I don't think I would get up, they give you a purpose if you see what I mean. Also as linley says listen to your body and just lay down for an hour or so, I used to do this when I had a very bad hernia, it would pop back in, I wish you well Jo.
