If you’re thinking of trying a low FODMAP diet, keep in mind that it should only be attempted after other IBS treatments have failed and with the support of a Registered Dietitian (not nutritionist). It’s used as a diagnostic tool to figure out your triggers, not as a long-term diet. theibsnetwork.org/diet/

Hi Retire19

I think it is worth clarifying the points from IBSNetwork.

Those who have completed low FODMAP with Dietitian support typically settle on a personalised diet where their symptoms are greatly alleviated. The success rate for those with IBS is around 70% and many medical professionals would be very happy with that.

The personalized diet many people settle on having completed FODMAP will usually include avoiding the fodmap groups the individual is sensitive to, whilst allowing consumption of the fodmap foods that don't cause flare-ups. In this sense a long-term position can be struck between IBS symptom relief and ensuring a good nutritional balance.

And on your specific question on recipes, there are some great books available, have a look on Amazon. Just don't skip the dietitian consultation, that element is key.

There is an app for the low fodmap diet from the Monash University.

It costs about $10, once I got that everything became easier to understand.

Since they are the ones who developed the diet, you will get the right information also.
