Ibs d

I’ve been taking actimel to help with my ibs d but have been experiencing terrible smelly wind which is very embarrassing and tummy feeling like a cement mixer so I thought I would stop the actimel and sure enough the symptoms have gone. I still get ibs d but obviously probiotics aren’t the be all and end all

Hi , have you tried Silicol Gel by Saguna ?

Tesco’s, Boots and Amazon U.K. all sell it , comes in blue and white box, also Amazon now sell this in satchet form. Mysupermarket for cheapest price. Read Amazon reviews. Hope this helps.

Hi.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with actimel I'm not sure what is in it but I've been on the low fodmap diet and was stunned by the long list of additives that can add to the misery of pain bloating and diarrhoea that I was getting. Even sweeteners that are in free from foods can upset my tum big time. Its definitely trial and error with foods and supplements most of which I can no longer take as I alsohave Crohn's so have injections instead.

The probiotic I use is quest mega 8 biotix its very good I find my symptoms worse if I run out of it as happened a couple of times with suppliers and online delivery. I now get it on Amazon or from healthshop online as our healthshop is too expensive for me.

Hope you feel better soon. Have a look at low fodmap I did it all free on Pinterest loads of ideas recipes and lists of things to avoid helped me a lot.

Take care
