Hi All,

At my wits end a bit! Hoping maybe someone else has been in the same situation! I have IBS-D which I've had for so long I can't remember what it's like to be able to enjoy food and not worry if it will be a trigger! On my honeymoon I had too much alcohol and had a really bad attack which led to an anal fissure... I'M IN AGONY!

I've been to the Drs, and the hospital twice... They've given me cream which is supposed to help heal it, but 2 weeks later, no improvement!

I've started taking Fybogel to try and regulate my movements as I know this can create problems healing the fissure, but it's making me feel like I need to go all the time (although my movements have now gone from 4-5 times a day to 1-2 times every 2 days).

Anyone been in the situation and able to help? I don't know if I should keep taking the Fybogel (I've gone from 2 packets a day to 1 packet).

Hello Neds :-)

I am going through something similar to you , I have IBS and also have piles which started bleeding and got me in a rate state and still is to be honest , I went to the doctors and one of the piles has a cut which is the same as a fissure and I am so sore it is unreal !

I have been given some cream and keep thinking when is it going to get better , I am well in my 3rd week now but I have read these can take up to 6 weeks even 8 sometimes

I have found constipation makes it worse but if I have the runs that does to so I would go steady as basically anything we are passing pass the fissure is going to put pressure on and open it up again so somehow we need to try and find a middle ground not as easy as said though

I would give it another week or so unless you really cannot stand it any longer and if there is no improvement then go back to your Doctors it maybe that a different cream is needed

I hope it soon sorts itself out for you as I feel your pain and know just what you are going through :-)

Take Care x
