Yes, I had a ruptured appendix that was removed in 2011. It seemed after that, a lot of digestive problems happened, also when I had my left ovary and tube removed from several large cysts. I had the cramping, and prescribed "Levsin" or "Bentyl" with Probiotics seemed to work, now no cramping, just severe weight loss and chronic and severe constipation now. 😳. Currently taking medication for this and under care of dietician and Gastro..

Many thanks Eliana......I had my appendix removed when I was 11 as a retired nurse I have read that the appendix is vital for regulation of bacteria.......love to hear from other ibs sufferers.

Hi Fudgerelle.

Yes, I had mine removed at 18 as I was told they were “grumbling”. The pain that I was having then has been with me on and off all of my life. Interesting that there is a possible link. Xx

Yes , after over 10 years of begging and pleading for exploratory surgery because of my problem with not being able to go to the toilet and vomiting and just not right and was saying there is something wrong inside please do exploratory surgery ! Because they could never find anything and a CAT scan and kept telling me I was fine and it was in my head !!!! This all started in 2004 with finding out I lost half my blood ? When I went to the bathroom there would be blood in the toilet and I didn't think it was that much ? But the blood work showed that my hemoglobin was 7 when it was supposed to be 14 , so they put blood in me and sent me home without finding the leak ?? Within a nine months, I had two colonoscopies and was still bleeding and they said I was healthy and fine ? Nine months after the blood transfusion I bent over in front of a doctor and within three seconds they found a real deep deep hole and said to me you have a deep Fissure , 5 TIMES ! And every time I was told I had a deep Fissure, I kept asking what is a Fissure ? five times ????? The doctor was staring at the ceiling mesmerized about how deep it was !! and saying it over and over again ? Anyway finally in March 2017 they went in to remove 6 to 8 inches of my large intestine out after a barium enema test with x-rays that doesn't have as much air pressure as a colonoscopy which showed just a pencil line of barium within a 6 to 8 inch length in my large intestine on the left side where my hand was for over 10 years complaining right there ? So they went in to remove that and found my appendix oversized and not only stuck to my COLON but "plastered to my COLON" !!! So they had to remove my appendix and half my COLON all the way up to the six or 8 inches of my large intestine that they were originally going to just take out, and they told me they took everything out all in one piece ??? Because they were afraid if they tried to remove my appendix it would tear and then I would probably die ? Anyway for the first two weeks at home after I left the hospital I was in a lot of pain from the surgery and ate my month supply of Oxycodone pain medicine almost into weeks !! But I was eating whatever I wanted as the surgeon said I could and was is pooping perfect and not getting constipated at all from the meds ? So I went back to pain management and told them I am almost out of medication but I've been eating and going to the bathroom excellent ?? and they dropped my dose that they were giving me and within one week I ended up in the hospital because I couldn't eat without vomiting and definitely couldn't go to the bathroom without taking 30,000 mg of vitamin C crystals , and then just water poured out of my butt , dirty water until it turned clear ? Looking back at it now I should've been constipated within the first week after coming home from the hospital from the surgery ?? But I've been on the pain medicine now for over two years ? That's how I was going to the bathroom it was the only thing that will allow need to go , it just seemed like it woke up my stomach muscles and intestine muscles and let them work ? I was so desperate I got off the pain medicine in January 2018 for over two months until I ended up in the hospital again because I didn't go to the bathroom for two months except for little drips , basically hardly anything at all , and I couldn't eat anyway because it would make me sick like I had the flu or I would vomit , The next day after the emergency room I went back to pain management and they put me back on the pain medication and 15 minutes after I took it I heard so much noise and it felt so much movement in my stomach and my intestines , and the next day I woke up at 6 AM in pain and took more pain medicine and had the best poop I've had in six months ?? And I think they cut a nerve during the deep Fissure surgery in 2005 ?? And no doctor yet has entertained this ? I had knee surgery in 1983 which is very painful and I went home from the hospital after the surgery and had to get off the pain medicine within three days so that I could function normally and go to the bathroom ? Within three days after not taking them I was back to normal but just had a lot of pain in my knee ? So I hope this helps and maybe after what I said maybe someone well have a good idea on what I should do or whatever ? Anything to try ? Or something to say to these doctors that won't listen ??
