So I can eat cereal in the morning and be completely fine but then if I eat it for dinner suddenly it makes me feel incredibly sick. Why does this happen? Does it happen to anyone else? Is it an IBS thing or am I just weird lol? It’s driving me crazy
Edit: this actually happens with a lot of things one day I’m ok eating it and the next day I can’t. I can’t eat veg or fruit as I’m intolerant and I’ve also tried the FODMAP and have also been fed through a tube.
Hi, yes..this happens to me. We have a nutrition group, and the man who teaches it said when he eats milk/cereal at night..happens to him too. I think it happens to a lot of people. I was told to try not to eat after 8pm..especially hard to digest foods, or foods with lactose, because our digestive system..does not work well as during the day..it sort of shuts down to "rest" as I was told..
Yeah I don’t eat anything after my dinner which is at 2pm (early I know but that’s when it’s best for me to eat) but I still have problems. I guess it’s just an IBS thing. Thank you
I believe I know why : I had to learn the hard way : Indigestible Fiber, whole grains, high carbs can cause hell for people suffering from IBS. It made me very ill. Whole grains, Fiber can be a menace. I have extended family members who also have IBS and they discovered the same thing by trial and error: Indigestible Fiber caused the problem. Try to go without whole grains, try a low fiber, low carb diet ...especially try to stay away from cereals .... whilst you’re feeling so unwell. If you really need a cereal ... cornflakes (not ideal) but is probably less damaging than the other cereals. I also found it helped me to stay temporarily away from bread, biscuits, too much sugar etc. I didn’t have any problems with natural yogurt or milk. If you desperately need bread .... try at least to stay away from grains and whole meal (the opposite of what we’ve been told for decades by the Cereal producing companies).
