Hi, I'm just getting myself in a state, I'm a 38 year old male, had ibs d since I was 11, have tried all diets, all meds from doctors, had physiologist, tests, colonoscopy etc etc. I do have better times when I'm eating well and not drinking, but it's always temporary and never consistent. I can eat exactly the same foods and drinks for weeks on end and symptoms change daily. I'm lately getting really stressed about future, I worry about work, at the moment I have a job which is in one location and close to home, I always worry about when this job finishes. I can't travel because I get so anxious, it turns into panic. I suppose I'm just getting myself worked up. Is there anyone out there who has felt similar and is coping now. Thanks for reading

Worried about the future
Hi Terriblytired you are right constant worry really does make you tired. Have you tried FODMAP way of eating - and if you have , have you read the book? The reason I ask is because until you understand that combining foods can all end up making your sugar intake too much. You also have to be strict. But you can eat many things like steak and chips. If you have tried it - then I can only sympathise with you. Somebody, somewhere must have an answer for us. Good luck
Hi yeah I've tried and as I say my symptoms still come and go no matter what I eat. Its relentless 😞
Hi there. Have the drs prescribed anything to help? I’m on amitriptyline and although it no longer helps very much, it did at the beginning.
Have suffered with IBS for over 20 years & like you, I have tried every diet, seen physiologist, had tests etc... Nothing has helped! Started taking citalopram a few years ago & it has certainly helped with the anxiety & panic attacks when thinking about traveling. I take lopermide the night before trip & again an hour or two before I set off which ensures I don't have to worry about finding a loo with what I call a two minute warning!!! Not ideal but it's better than not going anywhere.
Hi thanks for the reply, is lopermide a anti dihorrea tablet? Are you in the u.k.?.
Trouble with me is I've not gone out far for such a long time I've got terrible anxiety that nothing seems to stop, I get so panicked I just think it's not worth the stress most of the time
