Worried Lady

I am a 60 year old retired lady who has had IBS C for 14 years or so. I have been able to manage this reasonably successfully taking one and a half Laxido per day. Since Christmas I have not been able to go properly and the GP increased the Laxido to 3 per day plus Fybogel. I am now finding that although my stools are soft the urge to go is almost non existent. Has anyone got any suggestions?

Thank you.

You have to see a gastroenterologist. There may be a muscle problem after years of being constipated. This can be measured.

Have you tried magnesium citrate or oxide instead? I take between 250mg to 400mg daily. It gives a much more natural movement? I came off the laxido for the reason you stated. I only ever use now if im absolutely desperate.
