I know exactly how you feel. I usually go once or twice in the morning, but on bad days I might go more than five times. Imodium has been the only salvation I've found. The only side effect I ever get from it is the need to pee quite frequently.

Today is Thursday, and it's the first day this week I haven't had to take Imodium. I usually go to the bathroom in the first hour of my morning, which kinda sets the tone for my whole day. If I have to go more than once before leaving for work at 7:45am, I will usually take the Imodium to make sure it doesn't continue at the office. Last week for the first time ever, I actually had to take two Imodiums to stop a sudden onset of diarrhea that came out of nowhere. One pill wasn't enough.

I've started making more diet changes to see if that helps at all. I've had IBS for four years now, for a while I had it mostly under control but due to some other stresses in my life the last few months I've let myself slip and have been eating a lot of carbs and sweets and other foods that I should be avoiding. Trying now to eat an apple a day for more fiber, as well as adding some Benefiber to my morning tea. I also purchased this probiotic from my chiropractor that has like a billion live cultures in it, supposedly it's way more effective than OTC probiotics. I've tried every drug store probiotic but haven't seen any changes. Hoping this new one will help me get my gut flora balanced again.

Have you tried adding fiber or probiotics? I will let you know if I start seeing improvement.

It sounds to me that you are having too much fibre. Recommend you read Professor Peter Whorwell`s book Take Control of your IBS and go on a low fibre diet for a month

Appreciate your comment, but actually I've been increasing my fiber to help my IBS because I think my diet had been lacking in soluble fiber. So far, it seems to be helping.
