I suspect there is no definitive answer but just want reassurance please. Have coped fine with boiled eggs, in fact they have been a life saver with their protein. Left one a little too long this morning making it effectively hard boiled. An hour later bad cramping.

Hi! Forestina
IBS symptoms can be very frustrating as to know what could trigger them-you can eat something one or two days and all is well, then next time
something happens. I am still wondering after many years of IBS if a hot cup of tea sets my diarrhoea off. I think it may be the same for you with eggs
so the only reassurance I can give is that you are not alone it can happen to all us IBS sufferers. Perhaps you could cut down on the amount you eat and then re-introduce them?
Good Luck
Like you I tend to stick with eggs for breakfast but occasional even these give me trouble. I think some days you can just be a little more sensitive than others. It's so hard to control or predict when a flare up might happen. Hope you feel better soon
Have you tried using only egg whites. Maybe that will help. I have found if I use only egg whites it’s definitely better for me. Also try using organic eggs.
Thank you. Will do. Have just had some Quakers instant oat porridge too late saw the added sugars.....just seen syrup flavoured whatever that is supposed to be mean. Not having a good day.
Hi Forestina,
There is a pattern here and it looks to me like you and sugar just don't agree. Keep reading those labels. BW
I have found if I make tortilla ( frittata) using anything that does not trigger me off like sweet potato or anything (I got that desperate at one point ) the eggs do not set me off , but like all things in moderation, it make a nice snack or meal - hot or cold and a great way of getting your protein and if I use a very small amount of spinage it was ok as I have had to avoid all greens this has been a great way of trying to get more into my diet.
Best of luck x
