Hi, Linzess is not a Laxative, it just helps move the stool. I was prescribed this by Gastro, the 290mg. It was a bit rough on my stomach, had to stop taking it, but it may work for you. It comes in two strengths. But it's definitely not a Laxative. It's in a class like Amitiza, Relistor.

Thanks Eliana5....l just wondered because this morning l took the 145 and it has been working real good for me....But this morning didn't pass anything but gas. Then a couple of hours later after l eat my toast and preserves it started working like clock work! I knew l had eaten good yesterday but a little later than the normal. But l decided l wasn't going to think about it.... because sometime ago it didn't work everyday for me. But l used to be a constipated person and when l got linzess knock on wood it has helped me a great deal! lm like you Eliana5 l tried the 290 but it was harsh on me at times.

Thanks Again

You're welcome. I found it worked Best on me after meals to, but it was very unpredictable. I may ask Gastroenterologist about maybe going down to the strength you are at. I probably should have done that before. Not sure why I didn't think about it. Maybe because I wasn't getting completed movements, but it was pretty harsh. Glad it is working for you.

I agree it’s called constella the one I am on but same thing - mine are 290 and I can’t take them every day because they work so well, too well in some cases so I have to leave a few days in between then they sometimes don’t do anything, I wish I’d known they come in a smaller dose, just paid for another two months prescription!

Lynett I have replied on your other posts recently regarding Linzess and said it is not a traditional laxative and works on the receptors in the stomach. It works best for me when I have it with food. I go a few times within a few hours and then I am done and feel so much better.

Thanks Pat1 and Eliana5..... Sorry for missing your post.....I do appreciate your reply...I do try to go back and see if l had asked the question before. I'm sure l missed it. You and Eliana5 are correct! l started doing yours and Eliana5 suggestions and this works a lot better than l ever thought for me!!

l was following exactly the directions but l tried it with the food and about 2 hours or so l have good bowel movements! l can tell you it has made me feel a lot better also! Thanks to you both for the suggestions!
