I'm just having a stressed out 12hours. Had a massive flare up started in Nov. Lots of stress and worry with my youngest not sleeping (she's nearly 1) and lots of the regular you children stuff. Anyway since Christmas ish my symptoms have been improving, less bm, less nausea and some of the other symptoms (dizziness, palpation's) have gone. Yesterday morning I was woken by my alarm (rather than by my bowels) for the first time in months. A very normal bm and I felt great! I thought I'm finally out of this one. Ha! Well yesterday early eve I gets a call from my daughters nursery, she's got diarrhoea bug, it's going around the nursery, even the adults are getting it. I arrive at nursery praying their being over cautious but then she has another nappy and it's definitely a bug! So I'm stressing out now! She's had a sick bug, a cough cold that made her breathing really bad and now this all since January! My ibs flared up again this morning with a 4am wake up cramps, wind, loose bm and nausea 😔. And now I'm stressing out that I'll get this bug and be back to square one with the ibs! I'm convinced it was a bug that set everything off for me in the first place. Also feeling rather selfish about thinking about that instead of my kids. Humph ☹️
I know I'm better off than a lot of peeps on here so I apologise if anyone read this and thinks 'stop moaning you've got it easy.' It helps me a little to have a rant and get how I'm feeling off my chest!

I totally feel your pain! As much as I can anyway! I have IBS D and I had some stresses through November as well - some health worries that got me down and low and behold I have been have a huge IBS D flare up for 3/4 weeks now! And I have good days and bad days and some days I feel so positive and others like today I just feel annoyed and frustrated! Even though my IBS seems a bit better I know as soon as I eat something remotely interesting I will be set off and stock on the loo for days! Maybe I'm wrongs I hope I am but you never with IBS!
The other day I felt SO good that I allowed my self a cheeky slice of pizza! The next morning I felt great; for to work and had such huge blasting that I thought I wouldn't be able to teach, I thought my stomach might explode! So that was a no to my IBS flare up being over and no I still can't eat pizza lol
I don't have kids yet but I can imagine it can be so hard and stressful at times and stress is a huge trigger - for myself included! I hope you feel better soon - a stomach bug is so much more to one with IBS! I had a flare up for over 2 months last year after I ate some bad chicken!
If you can find the time to maybe do something relaxing/meditative it might help with the stress! I am having acupuncture and doing yoga and some meditation and it does help my mood!
Currently due on my period so my PMT is making my mood awful haha so it doesn't help!
I hope you and your little one feel better soon! We must try and be positive!, But getting it off your chest is always helpful ! Xxx
Hi don't apologise, better to get it off your chest. Just continue with good personal hygiene. You can only do your best. Kids have to get all these bugs so they won't get them later. Good luck.
