I'm new here and I would really recommend a book called "TISSUE CLEANSING
THROUGH BOWEL MANAGEMENT"
I'm not plugging this (whilst available on Amazon, this is actually quite old and available online as free pdf download if you Google search!)
Worth reading, and when you see the xray pictures of diverticulitis condition example (really shocking), the symptoms described matched many posts on this site. After reading and understanding the gut for conditions like this, you'll realise medication alone won't give you a cure.
I have IBSc and took the easy route of taking probiotic as the author described and it eradicated the symptoms I had for 2-3 months in 3 days.
Thank you so much for sharing, I will definitely have a read.

Thanks I hope you find parts of it interesting
The reason I came across it was because I was researching into colonic / enema detox because we carry a lot of waste inside us that's not expelled.
Years ago I read a compelling article in the guardian (search "The enema within Ian Belcher" ) where the journalist expelled a marble he had swallowed as a child.
And the author of the recommended read is apparently a great advocate of the enema having studied the bowel for years
I've never had the time to do the detox, but I'm sure it would benefit me!

Thank you so much Chris and what you have said is really helpful.
Hi Chrisyyng, just wondering which probiotics helped you, and do you continue taking them?
Hi
I take Holland and Barrett 2billion capsules which are on sale at the moment £7.99 for 120.
I would guess it doesn't matter which brand etc as long as its reputable and the concentration is at least 2billion per capsule.
The most important things are to give the bacteria every chance of survival, take either high enough volumes (cheaper more capsules) or higher concentrations (more expensive take less capsules) , feed them to allow them to flourish, and consistently take for at least 6months. That's the same for any brand
Bacteria are easily killed off, so anything anti-bacterial is a no (e.g. hot drinks, alcohol etc are a no and milk, yoghurt juice etc are a yes for max survival and growth. (Bacteria double every half hour in the right conditions )
You are aiming for these bacteria to overcome bad bacteria to reach a ratio of 80%good to 20% bad.
Have a look at the post titled " gas in the afternoon" for further details that may help
